Every August writers from all across the globe come and share their experiences and thoughts with the public. Since 1983 the International Book Festival has grown rapidly in size with over 700 authors attending the Book Festival in Edinburgh each year.

There are now two independent bookshops at the Book Festival in Edinburgh, one for adults and one especially for children so there is something for everyone to enjoy.
